Inside the Home of HGTV's Jillian Harris

I first become familiar with Jillian Harris via the addicting HGTV show Love It or List It, but I really fell in love with her aesthetic via her regular posts on instagram and her blog. I was so excited to see a tour of her Kelowna home.  Here's a look:

Design Spotlight: Nest Design Co.

One of the many things I enjoy about my job, is discovering talented new-to-me interior designers. I thought it'd be fun to spotlight them here on the blog as I'm sure many of you will also enjoy seeing their beautiful work and gain inspiration from it.

This week's spotlight is on Jennifer Wundrow and Heather Brock, founders of their own firm -Nest Design Co. based in Sausalito, California. A selection of lovely spaces they've designed:

Budget Friendly Source for French Bistro Chairs

If you've followed me for some time, you may know about my obsession with French bistro chairs (just the other day instagrammed this photo).  I always seem to be drawn to spaces incorporating this type of chair and have as a result collected a number of inspirational images: French Bistro Chairs via www.ariannabelle.com/blog

French bistro chairs tend to be expensive and hard to find (they're often sold just to those in the restaurant industry) so I was delighted to discover a budget-friendly source...Overstock! I don't have any space in my current home for these, but when we get a larger place - perhaps with a breakfast nook or nice outdoor area, I'll be getting some for sure.  A little round-up below:

Cynthia Collins Home Tour

So delighted that our Raja Embroidery pillow was featured in Domaine Home as part of the 'Get the Look' portion of their post on interior designer Cynthia Collins' home tour. Cynthia's home is absolutely beautiful and her design aesthetic definitely resonates with me.  Each space is bright and airy, yet cozy, with just the right dose of color.

Dream Kitchen Inspiration

This gorgeous kitchen has so many of the elements I'd want in my dream kitchen someday. A bright open layout, beautiful white cabinetry, marble countertops, a large island, white subway tiles, hardwood floors, a built-in bay window breakfast nook with views of the backyard greenery...

Dreamy right?? To make it my own I'd probably add in some french bistro stools, and of course some of my pillows.

For a look at the cool built-in organizational features of the kitchen as well as before photos, check out the homeowner's blog here.

Two Bright Kitchens

I tend to be most drawn to kitchens that get great natural sunlight, so it's no surprise I fell for these two:

Aren't they dream-worthy? Aside from the beautiful white cabinetry, I love the big windows that allow for beautiful views of the outdoors and tons of sunlight to stream in.

Hanging Pot Rack in a Small Kitchen

Last week I did a post on hanging pot racks, which featured mostly large kitchens.  This kitchen below shows how a hanging pot rack can be integrated into smaller quarters:

It works here because there's free wall space, as in the pots aren't blocking any cabinet doors.  They do look quite high up there though, so I'm guessing the homeowner keeps a step stool handy :)

Hanging Pot Racks

Hanging racks are a great option for storing and displaying beautiful cookware. Hung right above a center island, they make pots and pans easily accessible and create a visual centerpiece. Additionally, pot racks free up cabinet space so there's more room to store dinnerware, food items, etc.

Cooking Utensils Within Easy Reach

A kitchen rail positioned above or near the stove is a great way to keep frequently used cooking utensils easily accessible and in a neat row.
