Mirrored Vanities

If I had a dedicated dressing room, I think I'd like to incorporate a mirrored vanity table. There's something just so glamorous about them wouldn't you agree?

How Megan Organizes Her Magazines

This week's guest participating in the 'How I Organize' series is the beautiful Megan of Honey We're Home. She gives us a look at how she keeps her magazines and catalogs in order:

One of the things that can quickly get out of control at my house is the major influx of magazines and catalogs. As soon as I receive them, I immediately sort through the ones I want to keep, donate the rest, and put the ones I want to read in a big basket near my bed since I like to read before I go to sleep. After I've had a chance to read through my favorite mags, I like to keep them for future reference and store them in inexpensive Ikea magazine holders in my office. Keeping the magazine holders all white keeps the space looking clean and fresh!

Two Lovely Baths

The combination of pretty wallpaper and a beautiful white tub near a window, makes these bathrooms look like a dream...

Good Morning

Hello all! Did you have a good weekend? My sister's wedding turned out beautifully and we all had a wonderful time! I'll share a few pictures once we get them from the photographer :)

Isn't this bedroom lovely? So simple and serene. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Love that the blue patterned pillows and soft throw a bit of beautiful color.

Happy Friday!

Tomorrow is the big day for my baby sister! I can't believe it's finally arrived. I still remember when as little girls we used to play "fashion designer" and I would make her wedding gowns out of scraps of my mom's leftover fabrics (she used to work from home as a bridal seamstress).
Today is all about making sure all the ceremony and reception details are set, manicures and pedicures, and for me, finalizing my Maid of Honor speech. Have any of you ever given one? Any tips?

How Lauren Organizes Her Necklaces

Today I'm excited to share a new guest series which will feature a peek at how others organize their belongings and various little spaces in their homes!
Kicking off the series is the lovely Lauren of the food blog A Full Measure of Happiness. She gives us a look at how she beautifully organizes her necklaces:
laurenzietsmann-necklacesI had that terrible situation where you have too many necklaces in a box, and they start to become one giant knot of beads and string that threatens to  break every time you have to detangle it. So I thought of a magical idea involving a towel rod and shower curtain rings. Not only does it keep my necklaces organized and safe, but they area all on display so I never forget about anything that I have and can easily choose the best look for any outfit just by giving the bar a quick glance. I use it every day and I know my Mom had my Dad set one up for her too.

Outdoor Living

Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful sunny weather and had a backyard bbq to celebrate two things: my dad's birthday, and my sister's (and her now officially husband!) court marriage (the big wedding is next Saturday).

We had so much yummy food - shrimp, chicken, grilled veggies and corn, pasta salad, frijoles, carne asada, pico de gallo... not to mention dessert! I took a stab at making a rainbow cake. Check out my twitter page to take look at how it turned out!
Looking forward to many more summer days spent outside :)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Stylish Binders

I use 3-ring binders for storing and organizing everything from project files and business receipts, to magazine tearsheets and recipies. I currently have basic white inexpensive ones in a variety of sizes, which I keep lined up in an office cabinet. For binders I use frequently, I'm thinking it'd be nice to upgrade to something that's stylish enough to leave out on an open shelf for easy access. Russell + hazel binders in a fun color {as seen below} would do nicely.
